Background information: On the old cementary in Uppsala were a funeralchapel build in the beginning of the 19:th centuary. That chapel was replaced 1882-83 with the chapel above. It was in function until 1972-73. The final decision that the chapel was taken out of use came 1976 and the organ of the chapel was sold. The chapel was renovated in the summer 2001 and stood ready for the first Divine Liturgy September the 22:nd as an orthodox church.
